Question by Bret: I just asked a question about ants eating my tree and now have another?
most answers said it’s likly carpenter and they only eat dead wood….on the outside the tree looks rather healthy. If it’s got a diseas and is dying on the the inside how can I find out and is there anything I can do to help it?

The inside is not alive, it’s just providing structure. The tree may be otherwise healthy. You’ll want to stop the ants from living inside, as it will lead to the tree being structurally compromised, in spite of it being in good health.
Get an arborist on site to take a look in person to see if the tree needs any help.
